Connections

This week in Independent Study and Mentorship, I have been researching more about franchising and am working to set up two interviews with a franchise owner and a franchisee. I need to learn as much as I can in order to reach success and will do that through continued research and application of my knowledge. I also met with the Chief Executive Officer of etc group, Debbie Frazier, who shared her story with me on how she got to her position. She saw a need and built a business around fulfilling that need. In the future, I must constantly be aware of the world situation and jump towards opportunities that could produce high returns. Additionally, I saw how influential connections can be. Through my meeting on Saturday morning with the Chief Executive Officer of NewcrestImage, Mike Patel, my eyes were opened even wider. His connections enable him to essentially skip the lines and go straight towards getting results. This has shown me to network with as many individuals as possible and connect with each one in a unique way. In the future, I aim to make a name for myself and the people I meet will help me grow as a person and build my own brand/identity. I do not have much time left until college and I plan on making every second count. In my free time, I will be preparing for the future by learning about the stock market, franchising, management, construction, and more.
