Original Work Proposal

This week in Independent Study and Mentorship, I have set up an interview with the President and Chief Executive Officer of the ETC Group. The ETC Group is an international organization dedicated to "the conservation and sustainable advancement of cultural and ecological diversity and human rights." I hope to see entrepreneurship from a different lens and learn as much as possible from the CEO. I need to keep searching for entrepreneurs in all types of businesses so I can get an inside look at the problems and successes of all of them.

Furthermore, I must decide on what I am going to do for my Original Work, the first major project in ISM. I am thinking about a direction in franchising and making a master plan on how I am going to get there. I could simulate myself buying a franchise and then growing it while logging all the issues that go along with it. Franchising is a potential avenue in my future and I must learn as much as I possibly can about it. There are also endless opportunities with franchising: one can be an owner of a restaurant, hotel, collision repair site, carwash, and many more. Knowledge and experience combine together to reach success. I must gain as much of both as I possibly can in the next few years of my life.
